Sabiowl Release Notes
Last updated: 27 August 2026
What changed in each version of Sabiowl, newest first. What we are preparing next is at the end.
v1.1.1 (submitted for review)
We are preparing to submit this version to the App Store. The release date will be settled once it passes review, and we will add it to this page then 🪶
A version that refines how battles feel, and how the day-to-day recording works.
⚔️ Battle presentation
- The final blow now has a finishing effect, and the vibration on a win has been rebuilt
- All six party characters now fight with a weapon-swing attack motion
⚙️ Battle settings in one place
- The gear icon at the top right of the guild screen now holds auto battle, battle speed and skip (⏭) together
- Battles running in the frame on Home are capped at 3x, so the attack motions do not pass by unseen
📝 Reordering checklist items
- On the “Add habit” and “Edit habit” screens, checklist items can now be dragged into whatever order you like using the handle on the left
🔧 Fixes
- The app now recovers on its own when an old sign-in token left on the device stopped it from starting
- Fixed the remaining count not going down when an auto battle was lost, which left you facing the same opponent over and over
- Fixed the pre-battle sheet running off the bottom of the screen, which could make “Set out” impossible to tap
- Fixed taps that were not recorded while the connection was busy, where only the vibration came back. When a tap cannot be recorded, we now say so rather than ending in silence
v1.1.0 (released August 2026)
The version that makes Sabiowl available in English.
🌏 English
- The whole app can now be displayed in English
- Choose 日本語 / English under Settings → Display language (the first time, we follow your device’s language)
- It is not only the screens: notifications, enemy and character names, and challenge details all switch over as well
- This site now has an English version too
The app is still released in the Japanese App Store only. We will open other regions once we have seen that things are stable 🪶
⚔️ Auto battle and skip
- Battles now run by themselves in the frame on Home. Decide at the guild how many times to take on each opponent, and they are worked through as you come back to Home
- Added ⏭ (skip) to the battle speeds, for when you only want the result
🎖 Job mastery
- Your job now gains mastery every time you fight. The gauge is on the character screen
- Carrying a job you have mastered across to another character is something we will bring in a later update
🎯 Challenges and habits
- Challenge results can now reach you as a notification (turn it on under Settings → Notifications → Challenge Results)
- A habit’s reset cycle now actually takes effect: weekly and monthly habits are judged on the total count within that period
- Screens you are opening for the first time now carry a short note you can read on the spot
🎰 Gacha and shop
- The gacha odds can now be read from the ticket list
- The exchange pieces you collect now have somewhere to go: XP boosts, battle tickets and character exchange tickets
- Fixed items with no way to buy them appearing in the purchase list, and weapons won from the gacha being sellable
✨ Other
- The initial download is about 57% smaller
- An enemy’s listed attack now matches the damage you actually take
- Notes in the Quick Notes trash can be permanently deleted all at once
- Recording a habit is reflected more quickly
- Fixed Sabi overlooking weekly and monthly habit completions
v1.0.5 (released 30 July 2026)
Adjustments so that less of what you build up goes to waste.
📝 Search in Quick Notes
- A search field at the top of the notes screen narrows down what you have written
- Matches are highlighted in yellow
🎟 Much higher ticket limits
- Daily: 5 → 30
- Weekly: 4 → 10
This came from hearing that tickets could quietly disappear when you went a few days without drawing. There is now enough room that a month away costs you nothing 🪶
🗓 Calendar improvements
- Events imported from Google Calendar now appear on the calendar screen’s timeline as well
- You can turn off automatic creation of default events all at once
✨ Other
- New entries now default to the “Other” category, which spreads experience evenly across all six stats
- Fixed a case where challenge rewards could sit unclaimed
v1.0.4 (released 29 July 2026)
📝 Quick Notes
Somewhere to write down what you have thought of but not yet decided what to make of. Sorting it into an event, a to-do or a habit can wait.
- Voice input, so you can write by speaking. The transcription is done by your device’s operating system; the audio itself is never sent to our servers
- Deleted notes go to the trash, so you can restore them afterwards
You can turn the feature on and off under Settings → Quick Notes.
v1.0.3 (released 25 July 2026)
🌙 More life in the sleeping world
- Clouds drifting over the castle town at midday
- A new campfire for the forest camp at night
- The fragment pop-up now draws a cut-out of the scene itself
🎁 Gifts to friends
- What used to be an XP boost alone is now a set of three: an XP boost, coins and a battle ticket
✨ Better to use
- The bottom menu now slides between screens in the direction you are moving
- A separate screen for connection and server problems, so they are no longer confused with maintenance
- You can change your name and your character from the stats screen
- Fixed weapons won from the gacha not appearing in your shop inventory
v1.0.2 (released July 2026)
🌙 The sleeping world
A place where what you build up day by day takes shape as a scene.
- Your first completed habit of the day creates one outline fragment (grey)
- Winning a battle that day turns it into a colour fragment
- When every fragment has colour, the scene is complete and starts to move
📖 User Guide
- You can now read how each screen works from inside the app (at the top of the ☰ menu)
✨ Other
- Reorganised the ☰ menu so the screens you use most are two taps away
- Titles you have entered once are remembered on your device and offered as suggestions next time
v1.0.1 (released 7 July 2026)
The first public release. This version pairs the core loop of keeping a habit going with RPG-style growth.

- Earning a badge earns diamonds
💎 Diamond packs (iOS)
- ¥120: 120 diamonds
- ¥600: 660 diamonds (10% more)

- Days 2–7: 100 diamonds a day
- Day 8 onward: 20 diamonds a day
All of these arrive the moment you complete your first task of the day. They are a reward for taking a step, not simply for opening the app 🪶
⚠️ Known limitations
- The job mastery system (switching jobs across characters) is planned for v1.1 and later
What comes next (v1.2 and later)
We are preparing the following while we watch how the app is used after launch. The contents and timing may change, so please read this as a rough guide.
🎴 More characters
- Released in stages, roughly one or two a month, from the characters not yet available
- We will announce the timing in the app beforehand
🌏 Release in English-speaking regions
- English itself is done as of v1.1.0. What remains is opening the regions
- Once things look stable in Japan, we will open the US, the UK and Australia in that order
⚔️ More job mastery
- v1.1.0 brought the part where a job grows as you fight with it
- Next comes carrying a job you have mastered across to another character
💎 Crystal inventory
- Equip the crystals you have collected to draw out their effects
- Six kinds, one per category: Fitness, Learning, Health, Spirit, Creativity and Contribution
✨ “NEW” banner on the gacha screen
- Makes newly added characters easier to spot
- Tap to go straight to the character’s page
🌍 A world you can explore
- More NPCs with distinct roles, such as a weapon shop and a gacha stand, added in stages
- Growing from “a habit app with rewards” into “a habit app with a world you can explore”
💎 More purchase options (under consideration)
- A monthly subscription
- Details and pricing will follow as we see how monthly active use develops
